Leeds Building Services (LBS) is the in-house service provider for construction, repairs and maintenance works across the Council. The service currently delivers Responsive Repairs, Maintenance and Planned Works to Council Houses across various parts of the City and Council Assets across 800 sites including Schools, the Civic Estate, Offices, Sports and Leisure Centers and Children’s Homes across the Authority.

As Lift and Workshop Service Manager, you’ll thrive on Providing effective management, direction and coordination, excellent communication skills both verbal and written, have the ability to manage competing priorities whilst delivering on a range of service objectives and whilst adapting to changing circumstances.

About you

As a Lift and Workshop Service Manager, you will bring to the role:

• Responsible for investigating and resolving escalated complaints regarding the service in accordance with the Councils Complaints Policy.
• Responsible for and contribute to Health and Safety Management in line with LCC policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
• Provide specialist advice and maintain an up-to-date awareness and knowledge of a comprehensive range of construction related theories and methods.
• Ensure that contractors are managed appropriately including effective contract management and the management and attendance of contract review meetings.
• To have a general understanding of SLAs and construction contract forms such as JCT, NEC contracts.
