We’re looking for a highly organised Lifting Stores Administrator to join our growing team supporting the MEH Alliance project - a once-in-a-generation UK nuclear infrastructure programme. As our Lifting Stores Administrator, you’ll be at the centre of our lifting equipment logistics. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the lifting stores, including managing inventory records, coordinating equipment movement, maintaining inspection and certification documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
From liaising with site teams to tracking critical equipment, your role is essential to keeping operations running efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- You’ll maintain accurate records of all lifting tools and equipment, including incoming stock, issues, and returns.
- You’ll keep our inventory management systems fully up to date to reflect real-time stock levels.
- You’ll conduct regular inventory audits to spot discrepancies and maintain supply availability and Replenish equipment and consumables as needed.
- You’ll oversee the issuance and return of lifting equipment, ensuring every transaction is logged and traceable.
- You’ll ensure all lifting assets are tagged and logged in the system, with up-to-date inspection and maintenance records; you will also support certification tracking for lifting equipment, including maintenance schedules and repairs.
- You’ll prepare detailed documentation for equipment movements, disposals, and third-party repairs.
- You’ll liaise with site supervisors, building managers, and logistics teams to meet equipment needs across the project; that means that you’ll organise deliveries, collections, and service schedules for lifting equipment across multiple sites
- You’ll coordinate with suppliers and external providers for repairs, inspections, or recalibrations.
- You’ll ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across the stores and lifting operations.
- You’ll report incidents, malfunctions, or non-conformance issues to the Lifting Stores Manager.
What You Bring to the Role:
- You’re a positive person, with a can-do attitude and a proactive approach to solving problems.
- You’re highly organised and accurate — you take pride in maintaining tidy, reliable records.
- You’re collaborative by nature — you work well with technicians, managers, and suppliers alike.
- You’re committed to safe working practices and you understand the importance of compliance in high-risk environments.
Experience and Skills:
- NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in the hire industry, a workshop, or a specialist stores environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and general stores procedures.
- A working knowledge of lifting equipment and related accessories.
- Experience in nuclear, EPC, or major infrastructure projects.
- A solid understanding of safety regulations for handling and storing lifting assets.
- Previous exposure to audit preparation, documentation compliance, or equipment certification tracking.
- Proven track record of delivering accurate documentation in a fast-moving operational setting.
