Join Cumberland Council as a Lighting Engineer and play a key role in shaping the safety and sustainability of our highways and public spaces. The role provides a source of technical advice and expertise, taking responsibility for the review of lighting design proposals from external consultants. You’ll lead the delivery of lighting capital investment programmes and administer our procurement frameworks. With responsibility for a budget of up to £2 million, this is a chance to make a real impact.
We’re looking for someone with a relevant degree or NVQ Level 5 in an appropriate discipline. The ideal candidate would have an understanding of BS7671, experience of AutoCAD and lighting design software. In return, you’ll be part of a supportive team within the Place Sustainable Growth and Transport Directorate, with opportunities for professional development and flexible working across the county.
This role is available on a permanent basis.
