Lighting Manager – Cumberland Council
Location: Carlisle or Workington
Are you ready to lead the future of road lighting in Cumberland? We're looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Lighting Manager to head up our Road Lighting Team within the Highways and Transport service. You’ll oversee the management of 35,000 road lights and illuminated signs, delivering capital investment programmes, shaping policy and standards, and providing expert advice across the council. This is a key leadership role with responsibility for team management, budget oversight, and strategic planning.
Who we’re looking for
To succeed, you’ll need a relevant degree or NVQ Level 5, membership of a professional body, and substantial experience in highways and transportation. Strong financial and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate effectively with councillors, partners, and the public.
