The role
We are looking for a newly qualified solicitor to join our team in Belfast.
If you’ve decided you’re a commercial litigator during your training contract, or if you’ve qualified into this practice area, we can offer a strong platform for your career and a broad caseload of matters, with a particular focus on financial services litigation and restructuring and insolvency. The team acts for some of the largest UK lenders and insolvency practitioners and is regularly instructed on complex disputes in this space.
We’re looking for someone with an enthusiastic approach, a strong work ethic and a team player.

Our LRC team advises corporate clients on all aspects of commercial dispute resolution across a range of key sectors,. With litigators in Scotland and Northern Ireland as well as across England we cover all UK jurisdictions, and are regularly instructed on international litigation and disputes.
The Dispute Resolution team in Shoosmiths’ Belfast office is part of a nationally recognised practice known for its strategic and commercially focused approach to litigation. The team advises on a broad spectrum of disputes, with a particular focus on financial services litigation, insolvency, debt enforcement, professional negligence and real estate litigation. With a strong client base across sectors such as technology, automotive, and real estate, the team is praised for its agility, sound judgment, and commitment to delivering practical, commercial solutions. The Belfast office plays a key role in supporting the firm’s UK-wide dispute resolution offering, providing opportunities to work on high-quality cases for blue chip clients in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
