Loan Portfolio Assistant

Role Purpose:

The Loan Portfolio Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the management and administration of our loan portfolio. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of lending principles and practices. The successful candidate will work closely with the Loan Portfolio Manager to ensure the efficient and effective management of our loan portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Portfolio Management Support
• Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of the loan portfolio, ensuring accuracy and completeness of loan data.
• Review loan documentation and perform periodic portfolio reconciliations.
• Maintain up-to-date records of loan documents, collateral, and related information.
• Ensuring all interest collections in the portfolio remain up to date, escalating any concern to the Loan Manager/Senior Loan Manager.
• Supporting the Loan Manager in liaising with Solicitors to ensure HMLR is updated noting the lenders charge.
• Providing accurate redemption statements on request to ensure smooth redemption of the loan
• Prepare regular reports on the loan portfolio as and when required but also for the end of the month reporting to the CEO and external stakeholders.
• Conduct analysis of loan portfolio trends and provide insights to the Loan Manager.
• Assist in the preparation and review of loan documents, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to inquiries from internal stakeholders and provide support for loan-related queries within the 4-hour SLA.
• Ensuring professionalism when corresponding with borrowers and any other party about the loans
• Liaise with borrowers to obtain necessary documentation and resolve outstanding issues.
• Assist in the coordination of loan closings and disbursements.
• Maintaining and giving professional service throughout the borrower journey, referring any complex matters to Loan Manager/Senior Loan Manager.

Role Requirements:

• Previous experience in lending, loan administration, or portfolio management is preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse complex loan data and identify trends.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with numerical data accurately.
• Proficient in using loan management software and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel and PowerPoint).
• Solid understanding of lending principles, loan documentation, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
