The role will be responsible for repapering and re-underwriting £100m of individual Partner loans to allow for these to be externally funded. The project will support the Group in reorganizing the balance sheet reducing the Groups capital requirement to fund Partner loans.
The role is core to maintaining an efficient balance sheet and developing the BSP scheme by providing the capital required to support the Group expanding the proposition provided to Partners. Funds raised by refinancing loans to external lenders will be used to fund equity transactions in Partner businesses.
This role is a 12-month fixed contract role
What you'll be doing:
- Working with Partner Lending to re-underwrite loans to assess affordability obtaining additional information from the borrower as required.
- Communicating directly with Partners to gather additional financial information and getting Partners to sign loan agreements to facilitate the repapering and refinance of their loan to an external lender.
- Preparation and issuing of loan deeds and documents (via coordination with SJP legal as needed) to facilitate the sale of Partner loans to an external funder.
- Working with the Project Manager to track and monitor the delivery of the project.
Essential Criteria
- Experience within or the ability to understand and interpret financial accounts including a profit and loss statement.
- Experience in Partner lending or another lending function
- Strong Excel skills ie; Vlookups, Sum-ifs, Conditional formatting, etc
- Strong and confident communication skills
Desirable Criteria
- An understanding of the different trading entities used by the Partnership and their tax structures (for use in affordability calculations)
