Swansea University Health Board is seeking to appoint to a 10 session Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist post in colorectal cancer, who has a commitment to high quality patient care, high level research, innovative service models, delivery of performance targets and excellence in education/training. The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of SACT and for the above tumour site as well as expanding a trials portfolio in these cancers for the patients of the South West Wales Cancer Centre.

This post is for a locum consultant clinical oncologist with a sub specialist interest in colorectal cancers. This is a 10-session post and working hours are flexible to accommodate candidates who may have caring duties. There are opportunities to develop off site working as needed to allow remote chemotherapy prescribing.

The postholder will provide a comprehensive non surgical oncology service (SACT) for patients with colorectal cancer. The postholder with work closely with the surgical team based in Hwyel Dda University Health board and surgeons in Morriston Hospital. The postholder will join a team of 2 clinical oncologists and 2 medical oncologists delivering non -surgical treatment for colorectal cancer across South West Wales

Swansea Bay University Health Board has responsibility for the health of around 390,000 people in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas, with a budget of around £1 billion and employing 12,500 people. We are a University Health Board working in partnership with Swansea University, Swansea School of Medicine, the School of Health Science and the Institute of Life Science. The HB has three major hospitals providing a range of services: Morriston and Singleton hospitals in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot hospital in Baglan, Port Talbot.

The Health Board is part of A Regional Collaboration for Health (ARCH), which is a partnership with Hywel Dda UHB and Swansea University. Aimed at improving the wellbeing and wealth of Southwest Wales.

Swansea has a range of shops, cosy cafes, great restaurants, art galleries as well as being able to offer good outdoor lifestyle with its beautiful coastline and beaches on the Gower Peninsula. Swansea also has excellent sporting facilities including the Wales National pool and Swansea.com stadium home to the Ospreys and Swansea City Football Club.
