By joining our Power Transmission and Distribution team as a Logistics Manager you will take full responsibility for overseeing and managing project logistics while supporting Project Managers with the logistical coordination necessary to deliver sections of a larger-scale project.
You Will
- Provide leadership, control, and management of all project logistics requirements.
- Manage contractors and suppliers, ensuring their seamless integration into the project to effectively deliver and oversee all site logistics.
- Ensure that customer specifications, including safety, quality, and timelines, are met, while addressing all risks and ensuring complete fulfilment of project objectives
What you'll be doing
- Overall responsibility for the successful management of the project logistics required to support the day to day delivery of construction activities across the project including Traffic Movement and the Scheduling of Teams under your direct control
- Set in place process and procedures for the management of logistic items including; Welfare facilities, consumables, plant and equipment and the management of these process and procedures including KPI reporting
- Awareness of budget, cost control and cost recovery, ensuring that expenditure is in line with the contract budget and that resources are utilised efficiently
- Procurement of multiple packages to meet logistical requirements including negotiating deals with supply chain partners
- Planning of all logistical activities over project life cycle
- Management of the mobilisation and demobilisation of multiple welfare facilities at project construction compounds including procurement and programming of utility service connection
- Liaison with multiple site teams to understand requirements and putting solutions in place including liaison with Project Co-Ordinators managing Site Security, traffic management and emergency services
- Stakeholder engagement & management including Local Highway Authorities and Port Authorities
- Organising & Updating traffic management plans
- Ensure all team members are fully inducted and carry out role specific requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement
Who we're looking for
Essential Qualities And Experience
- Proven track record in managing logistical and operational delivery within a
construction environment.
- Experience working across a variety of project types.
- Clear ability to communicate and enforce safe systems of work and experience
in implementing system improvements effectively.
- Capable of taking ownership of tasks, clearly communicating outcomes, and
encouraging team members to do the same while ensuring tasks are carried
out efficiently and key messages are cascaded effectively.
- Ability to perform efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines, with a flexible
approach to managing a variable and demanding workload.
- Team player and effective team leader with the ability to work both
independently and competently without supervision.
- Confident decision-maker who considers available options and adapts
solutions when dealing with issues.
- Excellent problem-solving and solution-oriented mindset.
