We’re looking for an exceptional Logistics Planner to join our Logistics Team, based in Cambridge. Reporting to the Regional Distribution and Transport Manager, the logistics planner is responsible for the flow of finished goods and related information to internal/external customers and regional partners.
This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of 3 days a week being based in the office.

Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate in- and outbound shipments of parts and finished goods
- Liaise with external partners, including freight forwarders and customs agencies, to facilitate efficient international shipments
- Coordinate special freights and daily delivery dates with customers, production, demand planning, warehouse as well as our commercial team
- Create, review and submit transport related documents such as packing lists, commercial invoice or certificate of origin to meet international requirements
- Identify and address bottlenecks to pro-actively avoid delivery disruptions
- Help to spot and implement ‘best practise’ to enable process improvements
- Manage claims in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including claim reports and follow-up procedures
- Analyse logistics performance data, identify trends and provide insights to improve operations
- Participate and collaborate in continuous improvement efforts for logistics processes and customer service standards

About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have/be:
- Experienced in multi-modal transport and extensive knowledge in international trade
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles including international returns
- Knowledge of Customs and HMRC processes including HS code classification
- Well-versed knowledge of Incoterms
- Customer centric approach and customer focussed mindset
- Previous experience in customer logistics preferable
- Proficiency in relevant software such as ERP and Microsoft Office Suite
- Be a self-starter, who is resilient with strong organisational and planning skills
- Possess a high attention to detail, be data driven and have strong analytical skills
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to multitask and adapt to quickly changing priorities
- Proactive and effective communicator with internal and external stakeholders
- Degree in an appropriate discipline or a minimum of five years professional experience in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- Strong experience in international operations including import/export procedures
- Understanding the meaning and use of Incoterms
- Experience in working with an ERP system (preferably NetSuite or SAP)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience of Lean logistics, Six Sigma, Projects would be an advantage
