Lung Cancer Screening Hub Specialist Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the expanded Greater Manchester Targeted Lung Health Check programme. This award-winning programme delivers lung cancer screening to people aged between 55 and 74 years old, who have ever smoked in their lifetimes, from mobile clinics in the community.

This post will based in Wythenshawe Hospital in the Screening Hub - You will be assisting with outcoming of the Screening Scans and contacting patients with results and patient queries.

The below indicates the main competencies required of the post which may be reviewed in light of the experience and developments within the service. Any review will be taken in conjunction with the post holder.

Provide specialist nursing advice

• Work autonomously as we all as part of a mutli-disciplinary team.
  
  

Provide nurse led clinics.

Ability to provide health promotion and smoking cessation advice.

Formulation of individualised care pathways with the patient and the carer.

Possess a working knowledge of respiratory equipment. For example: inhalers, spirometers and compressors.

Knowledge of the lone working policy.

Awareness of policies and procedures for MFT and community services in relation to working practices.

Ensure contemporary patient centre patient information is available for patients and carers.

Engage in audit and/or information collection.
