This is a very exciting and innovative time for Lymphoedema Wales and the Cardiff & Vale Lymphoedema Service with continued development of the service.
You will work closely with the lymphoedema team under the guidance the clinical Lead Therapist in providing highly specialist lymphoedema management and care for the residents of the Health Board. This post will involve assessing and treating patients with primary, cancer and non-cancer related lymphoedema and prevention education working along side the national all Wales Lymphoedema network. The post holder would be expected to be involved in teaching, audit and evaluation of the service.
You should have an interest in the field of lymphoedema/chronic oedema/ dermatology, full training and support is provided. You should also have excellent communication skills and be able to provide concise professional advice and support to patients. Experience in oncology, rehabilitation, wound management and community work would be beneficial. The successful candidate must be confident, enthusiastic and with a positive outlook to facilitate and motivate patients, experience of working with patients with long-term health conditions would be beneficial.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the Community Nursing Service, Wound Clinics and the Lymphoedema Service, ensuring patient care is delivered to the highest quality care, utilising research and evidence based practice in line with local and national policies, professional standards and guidance.
The post will support the skills needed to treat and assess complex chronic oedema, wet legs and superficial wounds and will work alongside non-registered, and pre/post registration staff, providing supervision, teaching and assessment of competencies related to Chronic Oedema management.
