Overview
We are looking for experienced COBOL Developers with strong hands-on expertise in FIS Systematics to support and enhance core banking platforms. This is a delivery-focused role within a regulated financial services environment, working closely with technical and business stakeholders. No nostalgia required, just solid engineering.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL applications within the FIS Systematics suite such as IMPACS, ALS, and ST
• Deliver scalable solutions aligned to business and technical requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve production and non production issues efficiently
• Contribute to code reviews and uphold development best practice
• Support integrations, upgrades, and system migrations
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation
• Provide production support and participate in on call where required
Essential Experience
• Proven COBOL development experience within banking or financial services
• Strong hands-on experience with FIS Systematics core banking modules
• Solid skills in JCL, VSAM, CICS, and DB2
• Experience across batch and online processing
• Good understanding of SDLC and change control
• Clear communicator who works well in delivery driven teams
Desirable
• Experience on large scale core banking migrations or upgrades
• Exposure to Agile delivery environments
• Experience working with distributed or global teams
