We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our Building Services team in Derby.
Working as a Maintenance Assistant you will be required to assist the maintenance crafts person's' in work that includes activities that are complex and/or non-routine. You will be required to undertake unsupervised routine maintenance and minor repair work that does not justify the attention of a crafts person

We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join our Building Services team in Derby.
Working as a Maintenance Assistant you will be required to assist the maintenance crafts person's' in work that includes activities that are complex and/or non-routine. You will be required to undertake unsupervised routine maintenance and minor repair work that does not justify the attention of a crafts person
What You’ll do:
- Undertake without supervision various minor repair jobs eg: air-conditioning, plant cleaning and filter changes, light bulb and pull cord replacement, removing locks for repair etc
- Be responsible for the regular fire alarm tests. Recording failures to the Supervisor for repair
- Erect under supervision, trestles and scaffolding
- Assist building/engineering crafts persons in all aspects of their work including plumbing works, electrical and mechanical repairs and installations
- Lifting and transporting plant, furniture, materials etc.
- To follow planned maintenance schedules.
- Knowledge of building services and general building maintenance.
- Have completed a recognised training at Assistant Craft Level.
- Basic computer literacy skills.
- Evidence of working within acute health care premises would be advantageous (but not essential).
