Duties
The post holder will be expected to undertake skilled electrical craft duties to enable effective fault diagnosis and repair to a wide range of plant and equipment as detailed below:
- Gas fired appliances.
- Oil fired boilers.
- Catering equipment
- Heating, hot and cold-water systems
- Waste-water systems
- Laundry equipment
- Emergency generators
- Fire alarm systems and fire-fighting equipment
- Lifts (Passenger and goods)
- Air conditioning systems
- Portable electrical appliances
- Domestic electrical appliances
- Various other types of Electrical equipment
Use digital and analogue test and monitoring instruments for effective testing and fault finding.
Carry out minor new works as directed by the Head of Estates Operations or Estates M&E Managers
Interpret and work from appropriate instructions, drawings and specifications.
To record accurately details of works completed including time, date, job content, location and materials used. Update logbooks, registers and other statutory records as directed by the Head of Estates Operations or M&E Managers.
Assist other trade staff as instructed by the Head of Estates Operations or Estates M&E Managers
Communicate with service users in arranging access and confirming work requirements.
