ROLE PROFILE:
Partner with product, engineering and operations to elicit, analyse, and document business processes and requirements that enable DMI’s Private Funds workflows (and adjacent DIGIT/DSD initiatives), translate complex market/ops needs into clear backlog artefacts, and support delivery validation end‑to‑end (from discovery through UAT and production readiness). The BA is expected to act as a Product Analyst SME in areas where business process depth is critical to validating the vision.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements & process analysis
Lead discovery for Private Funds and related market workflows; capture as‑is / to‑be processes, sequence diagrams, and business rules across Asset, Marketplace, Settlement, Custody, Payments domains.
Define functional/non‑functional requirements; write epics, user stories, acceptance criteria; maintain traceability to regulatory and control requirements
Stakeholder engagement & governance
Facilitate workshops with Product, Technology, Legal/Compliance, Risk, Operations and external partners; manage feedback cycles and decision logs
Support SteerCos, investment boards and portfolio forums with concise updates, risks, and mitigations aligned to DMI delivery cadence.
Backlog & delivery support
Partner with Product Owners to shape and prioritise backlog; ensure stories reflect market models (e.g., bulletin board at go‑live) and platform constraints
Regulatory, risk & assurance alignment
Map investor/participant journeys; document operating procedures consistent with the Service Description.
Contribute to control evidence packs and RFI/RFP responses drawing on Customer Assurance FAQs and programme artefacts.
Data, interoperability & integration
Clarify data contracts and interoperability requirements across Workspace distribution, onboarding flows, and custody/settlement integrations.
Testing & readiness
Define UAT scenarios, test data needs, and validation criteria;
Documentation & knowledge management
Maintain BA artefacts (process maps, SOPs, requirements packs); ensure versioning and audit trails in SharePoint/Confluence per programme standards.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Capital markets domain knowledge with emphasis on private funds, post‑trade workflows, and market infrastructure processes.
Proven BA delivery on large, multi‑stakeholder programmes; ability to operate across business, product and technology.
Strong process modelling (BPMN/UML), requirements management, backlog hygiene and stakeholder facilitation.
NICE TO HAVE:
Exposure to BoE Digital Securities Sandbox context and industry pilots.
Experience integrating distribution channels (e.g., Workspace banners/tiles) with product onboarding flows.
Prior work on DIGIT/DSD tender or similar public sector RFPs.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS:
Requirements baseline and traceability to controls, with signed‑off process maps and SOPs.
Backlog quality: clear acceptance criteria, prioritised epics aligned to MVP scope; on‑time UAT readiness with defect closure rates improving period‑on‑period.
Stakeholder satisfaction: documented decisions, reduced rework across squads, and positive feedback from partner demos.
