Management Accountant

Job Title: Management Accountant (Care Sector)

Location: Leicester (hybrid considered)

Salary: £31,000 – £35,000 DOE

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Management Accountant to take ownership of our finance function. This role is key to supporting growth, securing funding, and ensuring financial integrity as the company expands.

You will:

• Manage cash flow, produce financial reports, and handle complex invoicing and billing with local authorities, health commissioners, and third-party providers (e.g., Purple) using Sproc NHS invoicing systems
• Liaise with external accountants
• Provide financial insight to support strategic decisions
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
• Use Xero for day-to-day accounting operations
• Build and lead your own finance team as the company grows

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts and financial models to support growth
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing with local authorities, health commissioners, and third-party providers using Sproc
• Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, variance analysis)
• Support month-end and year-end processes, including ledger closure and audit preparation
• Assist with annual budgeting and financial reporting for directors and stakeholders
• Implement internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
• Ensure financial systems and processes are robust and efficient
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis for new projects and cost-saving initiatives

Experience & Skills:

• Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or equivalent experience
• Experience in social care, healthcare, or service-based sectors preferred
• Strong experience using Xero
• Skilled in handling complex invoicing and billing arrangements with local authorities and third-party providers using Sproc NHS invoicing systems
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
