Manager - Cross-Asset Research, Global Investment Research
This role sits within the Global Investment Research (GIR) team in FTSE Russell, the index business of LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group). GIR is the face of the FTSE Russell ‘Research House” campaign and produces research and presentations to enhance our dialogue with asset managers, ETF and investment product launchers, asset owners and Wealth, and the broad investment ecosystem to help the organization lead with research content and increase our value proposition. The Global Investment Research (GIR) team is a client-facing global research group with team members in the Americas, EMEA and APAC, that publishes insights on current market dynamics across global regions and asset classes. Our analysis is based primarily on data from FTSE Russell indices, along with other LSEG data sets and some external data sources.
Role Summary
The role will cover cross-asset and multi-asset research, by extensively using in-house index data and other analytics for drawing out and presenting the key findings through written research and verbal presentations. Production of research content (reports and papers) and presentations to internal partners and external clients.
Main responsibilities:
- Facilitate developing new reports and research ideas, writing existing research report series and helping senior team members in writing their research reports
- Analyse and visualize data for use in research reports.
- Explore new datasets and analytics for the generation of market insight
- Contribute to thought-leading research through written analysis of various equity markets, other asset classes and cross-asset
- Work closely with internal partners and GIR Research leads
- Connect with clients where appropriate
Skills and Experience:
- Master’s degree in economics, business, finance or investment management. CFA would be a great plus.
- Proven experience in investment research in any sell-side, buy-side or investment research institution
- Background in data science/quantitative field, prior experience in quantitative finance, hands-on demonstrable knowledge of data tools including SQL and Python is a must
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of investment analytics, quantitative investment techniques and methodologies
- Experience working with index data and large financial datasets
- Experience with LSEG Workspace and similar data platforms
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear and concise technical writing
- Good presentation skills, and the ability to ‘tell a story’ by synthesizing complex ideas into easy to grasp insights
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong self-motivation needed to work efficiently in a global team
