In this role, you'll be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the office and have full involvement in the take on and administration of corporate entities. As the business continues to grow, you'll manage a Client Services administrator team, that is consistent with the firms vision, values and strategy compliant with all applicable regulatory requirements and meets best practice in corporate governance. About the role
- Assist in the on-going development of the Mourant Governance Services UK office, including input into procedures and operations and the day-to-day running of the office
- Take-on and administration of new business in accordance with the firm's policies and procedures, ensuring that the clients experience an efficient and professional service
- Administer a portfolio of clients and ensure that client relationships and transactions are managed efficiently and to a high standard
- Act as a director to client entities and an authorised signatory over client bank accounts
- Act as a role model to all Mourant Governance Services UK employees and assist the UK senior leaders to develop teams of motivated, highly proficient administrators who act in accordance with the firm's values and in parallel to the excellent law firm service levels
- Ensure that all Mourant Governance Services UK employees have an understanding of what transactions they are working on, provide technical support and training to them as and when required
- Ensure client expectations are properly managed and valuable relationships are nurtured, so as to maximise the reputation of the team in the market and the potential for repeat work and referrals
- Effectively manage the day-to-day activities of employees reporting to you to include timely and accurate processing of work, meeting transaction deadlines, recording time and managing WIP and debt
- Assist the Governance Services team to operate, so as to benefit and develop the business, ensuring that the Mourant legal and governance services businesses are fully integrated, operate in a unified, consistent and coordinated manner and provide a seamless legal and corporate service to the firm's clients
- Ensure your team adheres to established risk management frameworks and actively contributes to their continuous improvement by identifying gaps and proposing practical enhancements, supporting the effective identification, assessment, and mitigation of regulatory, operational, and reputational risks
About you
- Demonstrable experience as Company Secretary, working largely with UK structures
- Previous people management experience
- You'll be a CGI UK Graduate, Affiliated or Fellow Member
- Proven experience in a law firm's company secretarial team or corporate services provider
- Experience handling filings in the Register of Overseas Entities is preferred but not essential
- Law degree is preferred but not essential
- Some knowledge of the provisions of the UK Companies Act
- Must be able to demonstrate initiative, be proactive, accurate and well-organised
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, together with the ability to build relationships, working as part of a team to achieve a common goal and be self-motivated and career driven
