Job Purpose/Overview
We have an excellent opportunity for a Sales Ledger and Cashiers Manager to join the Scottish Accounting Unit (SAU) Finance team at NATS Edinburgh on a permanent basis. This role will report to the Director, Group Financial Control.
The successful candidate will ensure that UK and overseas customers fulfil their financial obligations for the services NATS provides to them by managing an efficient invoicing and debt collection process. The post holder will manage a cashiering service and ensure that requirements are met through efficient, effective and well controlled processes.
Other Duties
- Invoice UK and overseas customers and collection within agreed credit terms.
- Take action to mitigate financial loss.
- Manage service provided to Danish and Icelandic Governments and ICAO.
- Work with the Treasury team to manage funding levels.
- Ensure transactions are recorded accurately.
- Manage cashiering service relating to the CAA Pension Scheme.
- Manage a robust control environment to ensure data integrity and to prevent errors.
- Undertake BPE role, by designing, managing and implementing SAP Cash Management, Accounts Receivable and Sales & Distribution modules.
- Focus on continuous improvement and initiate system changes.
- Manage user testing.
- Maintain a robust business continuity plan.
- Ensure data protection and retention is in line with statutory requirements and NATS information management policies.
- Recruit, develop and manage five team members and set clear objectives and regularly review performance.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Excellent knowledge of Sales Ledger and Cashiers processes and accounting procedures. This should be supported by relevant accountancy qualifications and/or significant experience in a comparable role.
- Excellent understanding of SAP, with S4 HANA an advantage, implementations and change management.
- Good knowledge of a control environment and able to monitor and control processes and procedures.
- Experience of managing a team, recruiting team members with appropriate skills, training and development.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages.
- Ability to manage day to day workload and projects, working to tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and communication skills with the ability to tailor appropriate to the audience.
- Highly motivated to achieve company and personal goals and results through others.
- Able to build strong relationships.
