Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Prestwick, Scotland (Onsite 5 days onsite/week)

Detailed Job Description:
The Manufacturing Engineer shall be responsible for ensuring optimised and robust technical solutions are implemented to cost, quality and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Supporting the implementation of optimised and robust technical solutions in response to customer requirements.
• Support implementation of engineering change to effectively and efficiently meet customer requirements and schedule.
• Support technical discussions as required
• Responsible for the management and development of accurate “bills of materials” maintained within the Enterprise Resource Planning system. Ensuring that valid and recognised engineering methods are deployed within the manufacturing process.
• Responsible for the translation of design data and specifications into clear and concise work instructions to manufacture products that meet customer design standards and regulatory authority requirements.
• Support with understanding and communicating complex technical information into simple language that can be conveyed to non-technical staff.
• Support technical elements of engineering change from concept through to delivery using engineering change processes
• Highlighting technical risks to the Senior Manufacturing Engineer ensuring mitigation actions are in place where possible
• Support supplier and customer in all technical discussion
• Ensuring effective data control and configuration mechanisms
• Support elements of APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) including Manufacturing Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA’s, Control Plans and similar associated toolsets.
• Responsible for the translation of Design Engineering data and specifications into clear and concise work instructions in line with customer and regulatory authority requirements.
• Responsible for the maintenance, development and compilation of detail packages of work and Conditions of Supply for external manufacture with suppliers.
• Liaising with customers, design departments and regulatory authorities to ensure product integrity and compliance.
• Assist with technical element to allow close out of customer non-conformances.
• Support with the compilation of Manufacturing Engineering elements at internal and external design reviews
• Support Continuous Improvement to achieve significant productivity and quality improvements by:
o Identifying and implementing methods to reduce set-up and overall cycle times.
o Effective use of problem-solving tools and techniques.
o Collaborate with Design to identify and implement cost reduction initiatives and product quality improvements.
o Optimising assembly methods to increase efficiency, reduce non-conformance and improve the overall quality of our products.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Qualified to HNC level or equivalent in a related engineering discipline.
• Have 2 years relevant engineering experience within a Manufacturing Engineering environment.
• Good communication and inter-personal skills – interface with customers and suppliers.
• Knowledge of Engineering Change
• Knowledge of engineering systems and the ability to deploy Continuous Improvement methods
• Awareness of drawings and systems as applied within our major customers such as Boeing and Airbus
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft Packages – Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.
