Job Title: Manufacturing Finance Business Partner

Location: Hybrid /Hemel Hempstead – Regular travel to production sites

Job Length: Permanent – Full Time

About the Role:

As GB Manufacturing Finance Business Partner you will work together with the GB Manufacturing Site Leadership Teams, partnering to deliver both operational and financial performance across each of the sites whilst providing strong financial leadership across Supply Chain, being responsible for the accuracy and integrity of total production costs in GB.

You should work together with your peers across Finance (Supply Chain, Financial Control, FP&A), ensuring that plans are in place to deliver in-year performance within GB Manufacturing and there is clear and simple understanding of the challenges and opportunities, whilst supporting the Manufacturing Leadership Teams in the execution of their strategy and identification of areas of efficiency.

The role will require the individual to utilise strong professional judgement and discipline in order to act as an effective and influential decision partner across the 3 site leadership teams, whilst being able to deliver standardisation and simplicity across financial processes (outlook, reporting, cost control, manufacturing accounting).

Albeit primarily based at Hemel Hempstead, the incumbent is expected to be present in each of the sites on a regular basis. The role will have key responsibility for all aspects of financial control and governance in the sites.

 

Key Responsibilities:


The core focus of the role is driving business performance, which will involve providing leadership across GB Manufacturing, ensuring there is full clarity and understanding of the key drivers of performance and the interventions required to unlock further value or mitigate risks to the plan, this will include:

•    Monthly period performance understanding and simple clarity of tracking vs Budget and vs. Outlook
•    Connecting both financial and operational performance, ensuring that the site leadership teams understand what is driving their performance and what action they need to take.
•    Risks and Opportunities (alongside outlook), which are well understood and with clear owners.

 

Working in close partnership with their line manager and site leadership teams to deliver the following performance management outcomes:

 

•    Provide actionable insights to Production on the drivers of total cost.
•    Make sure financial controls and related KPIs are maintained and tracked on timely, accurate and uniform basis across all Britvic sites, and reconcile to the P&L and the MIP.
•    Continually raise awareness of financial performance across the manufacturing teams, and ensure plans are in place to deliver and where possible exceed budget commitments. You will work closely with Production teams and your direct reports to understand the key performance indicators and how they impact on total cost and variances vs budget, forecast, prior year.
•    Support the creation of robust business plans through the Strat Plan & AOP processes.
•    Support the forecasting and budgeting process ensuring a robust, deliverable plan with clear risks & opportunities identified.
•    Support the calculation of standard production costs for the following fiscal year, NPDs and changes to product specifications and production methods.
•    Provide Supply Chain Controlling Team with information for calculation of transfer prices for the following fiscal year.
•    Cost analysis and driver understanding to support in-year delivery and future scenarios.
•    Mix analysis ensuring a clear understanding of the profitability of the various cost elements within their portfolio and how it compares to total, marginal and fixed production costs.
•    Work with the Commercial Finance team to share insights on cost trends for their respective brands & categories.

 

The role also involves supporting Value Creation, Capital Spend control and developing and improving relevant processes and supporting system enhancements. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

 

• Qualified accountant, with good practical understanding of financial control.

• Previous experience within Manufacturing Finance (desirable)

• Good communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders and driving changes

• Sound Business Judgement and ability to prioritise and be disciplined.

• Ability to connect both financial and operational performance simply.

• Able to ask questions to minimise the risk of unforeseen circumstances impacting team’s work

• Good communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing remote stakeholders and driving change through others.
