As a Market Street Development Manager at Morrisons, you will be the subject matter expert in your categories, responsible for developing and enhancing what is made in Market Street, and how it is produced and sold. You will listen to customers and colleagues to develop products and ways of working that satisfy customer needs, ensuring profitability and simplicity for in-store colleagues. Building and maintaining excellent relationships across manufacturing, central, and retail teams is crucial. The role focuses on ensuring the product range is relevant and manageable, with an emphasis on improved quality and reduced price.
What will I do as a Market Street Development Manager at Morrisons?
- Develop positive working relationships with all suppliers and internal teams, ensuring understanding of orders and contributing to department strategy and merchandising figures.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive reports for trading and other meetings, while continually communicating with suppliers on order status to ensure critical path accuracy.
- Understand principles of buying, production, and supply chain to assist in building and updating range plans in a timely manner.
- Achieve KPI targets and sales and margin goals for Market Street, delivering stock packages and ensuring maximum availability.
- Listen to customers and colleagues to develop products and processes, enhancing the Market Street range to be relevant, high quality, competitively priced, and deliverable.
- Engage with various teams (retail, technical, merchandising, buying, manufacturing, marketing) to improve end-to-end processes, support the wider business as a subject matter expert, and ensure all products are safe, legal, and uphold the Morrisons brand reputation.
About You
- You will have a clear understanding of customer needs, with the ability to champion customer focus in daily routines and possess sound commercial awareness.
- You can create environments where sharing ideas and concerns is the norm, and you champion pace, change, and simplicity.
- You possess strong analytical thinking skills to manage multiple data sources and make recommendations for sales, markdown, and stock intake, with systems expertise for speed and accuracy.
- You have a passion for retailing and detailed analytical experience, coupled with strong communication and influencing skills.
- You possess technical understanding and expertise in product development processes and Morrisons Market Street manufacturing facilities/abilities.
- You are a subject matter expert with deep knowledge and experience in relevant categories, including food safety and technical requirements, and have experience visualizing and creating store layouts.
