Marketing and Communications Support Officer - CMB2280e

Salary: £34,434 to £35,412 per annum (£20,660 to £21,247 Pro rata equivalent)

Hours: 22.2 per week

Location: Flexible(Cumbria)  

Contract: Fixed Term until 31.03.27 (with in-principlefunding to 31.03.28).

Purpose Of The Role

Aligned with the Council’s values and behaviours, the role will deliver high-quality marketing and communications support for Active Cumbria, drawing on strong local insight and specialist expertise. It will support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of impactful marketing and communications activity across the Let’s Move! programme, helping to tell powerful stories and bring the work and impact of partners to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Use specialist skills to plan, deliver, and evaluate impactful marketing and communications across diverse work areas.
• Create compelling marketing content across multiple channels, including PR, reports, video, social media, print, publications, and web.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external partners locally, strengthening networks and sharing insight and intelligence.

Provide clear marketing and communications support, training, and advice to Active Cumbria colleagues and partners.

Represent Active Cumbria and the Council on partnership groups, influencing local decision‑making through professional expertise.

Actively contribute to the Active Cumbria team, supporting continuous improvement and national standards such as safeguarding and equality.

Support the production of performance reports for key stakeholders.
