Job Overview
Southern Water is seeking a dynamic
Marketing Manager to join our team to work collaboratively with Hastings Borough Council on a unique and high-impact role. You will lead efforts to rebuild reputation locally following a complex 2024 water outage, while simultaneously promoting Hastings as a premium holiday destination to attract new visitors.
You will develop and deliver insight-led marketing campaigns that balance reputational sensitivity with vibrant destination promotion. This will include managing digital channels like SEO, social media, email marketing, and outdoor advertising, as well as overseeing creative asset development.
Building strong relationships with key stakeholders - including tour operators, public transport providers, and regional partners will be key to develop collaborative promotions and strategic partnerships. You will also manage budgets, track campaign performance, and ensure all activities align with brand guidelines.

About You
You are a proactive and creative marketer with experience in reputational management, destination marketing and a strong digital background. You’re skilled at managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, delivering measurable campaign results while maintaining excellent stakeholder relationships.
Your approach is both strategic and hands-on, confident in leading campaigns, managing budgets, and using data to refine your work. You communicate effectively and enjoy collaborating with diverse teams to create impactful marketing solutions.
Skills & Competencies
- Proven experience in reputational management
- Proactive ownership of responsibilities and projects
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Track record of creating highly creative, results-driven marketing campaigns
- Project management expertise including budget and deadline management
- Problem-solving mindset, with ability to identify and resolve issues promptly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge & Qualifications
- Skilled in planning, executing, and overseeing marketing campaigns
- Proficient in digital marketing including SEO, website management, social media, and email marketing
- Experienced with platforms such as Meta Business Suite and Hootsuite
- Ability to analyse campaign metrics, track performance, and apply data-driven insights
- Experienced in managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Budget management experience
- Recognised marketing qualification (college or CIM) preferred

- Flexible working split across Southern Water offices, Hastings, and home
Package
This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our Durrington office and home.
