Rate: Up to £20 per hour

Hours: 1–1.5 days per week (flexible)

About Silicon Brighton

Silicon Brighton is a community-led initiative supporting the digital and tech sector across Brighton & Hove. With thousands of engaged members across our meetups, Slack, newsletters and events, we exist to help people connect, learn and thrive together.

We’re now looking for a part-time Marketing Specialist to help elevate our community content, communications, and event visibility - with a particular focus on supporting the growth of our flagship event, EVOLVE.

The Role

This is an exciting hands-on marketing role for someone who loves community-led brands, content creation and digital comms. You’ll help drive awareness, engagement and growth across all Silicon Brighton channels, while supporting the marketing push for EVOLVE [26].

Key responsibilities include:

Day-to-day marketing and community comms

• Creating and scheduling daily social media posts across our channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook).
• Creating monthly newsletters and supporting email communications.
• Updating and maintaining content across the Silicon Brighton website.
• Engaging with our community on Slack, responding to messages and helping maintain an active, welcoming environment.
• Supporting marketing and awareness for regular meetups and events, including community spotlights and event promotion.

EVOLVE Event Marketing

• Creating sponsor highlight posts and marketing activations.
• Supporting ticket sales strategy, comms and content.
• Increasing broader awareness and visibility of the event.
• Ensuring messaging and storytelling is consistent and community-driven.

About You

This role would suit someone who is:

• A confident communicator with strong writing skills.
• Experienced in managing social channels and creating on-brand content.
• Naturally community-minded - you enjoy engaging in conversations and building positive online spaces.
• Organised and proactive, able to plan ahead and manage your own time.
• Comfortable juggling multiple content streams and responding quickly to opportunities.
• Experience with newsletters, basic website CMS updates, and content creation. Event marketing is a plus - but attitude and creativity matter most.

Progression

For the right person, this role could grow into a combined Sales & Marketing position, supporting partnership outreach, sponsor relationships and commercial opportunities across Silicon Brighton and EVOLVE.
