Your future role

As part of this expansion, we’re strengthening our Supply Chain team and looking for passionate individuals who want to be part of something game-changing. Based within our overhaul programmes, this is your opportunity to join an ambitious team at the forefront of innovation in rail.We’re looking for a Material Planner to take charge of the end-to-end flow of materials; ensuring that everything needed for production is in the right place, at the right time, and in the right condition.
We'll look to you to:
- Reviewing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Output and analysing data to align with operational needs.
- Validating Demand by generating requisitions and managing transfers to ensure timely fulfillment, while also measuring and reporting on planned orders and requisitions needing additional sourcing information.
- Maintaining MRP Parameters (order points and policies) for adequate supply based on lead times and costs, as well as creating depot-specific Material
- Master records for new items.
- Identifying Obsolete Materials and collaborating with Stores Management for disposal, ensuring accurate updates to Material Master records.
- Providing Support to the Supply Chain by generating reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), while adhering to compliance procedures.
- Collaborating with Fleet Control Teams at Alstom depots and plants to manage material shortages, coordinate transport logistics, and expedite critical material requirements.
- Acting as an Ambassador for Alstom, representing the Supply Chain function positively both internally and externally.

Essential:
- Proven experience in a material planning, supply chain, or production planning role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in using SAP
- Educated to A-Level or equivalent level qualification
- Ability to make decisions and act with a sense of urgency.
- Team spirit and strong communication skills.
- Sound understanding of costing, planning, and risk management practices.
- Resilience.
Desirable:
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field preferred.
