Main duties of the job
What You'll Be Doing
As our Medical Matron, you'll be at the forefront of driving excellence. Your role will involve:
- Leading and empowering teams to consistently provide outstanding, patient-centred care ensuring staff are supported and services are continuously improved.
- Championing innovative practice and evidence-based approaches to make a tangible difference in patient outcomes.
- Taking responsibility for delivering key quality targets and promoting excellence in nursing care.
- Contributing significantly to service improvement initiatives, both within medicine and across the wider trust.
- Playing a crucial role in achieving financial performance targets without compromising on care quality.
- Lead audits, oversee incident investigations, compliments and complaints.
- Work as a key member of the specialist triumvirate

Essential criteria
- Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council
- Significant experience working at band 7 level in a leadership role
- Demonstrable experience of implementing and managing change effectively.
- Demonstrable experience of achieving changed clinical practice and improving services to increase quality and effectiveness.
- Demonstrable experience of developing staff and teams.
