The Role
This role focuses on building trusted relationships with the practice and clients to drive the development and adoption of optimisation and efficiency best practices, aligned with the Firm’s vision. You will conduct detailed operational reviews of matter workflows and design, test, and implement commercially viable, sustainable solutions that improve client service while supporting revenue growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
As a Matter Optimisation Centre of Excellence Manager, you will drive initiatives to design, deliver, and integrate optimisation solutions and best practices into ways of working, aim at enhancing client service and boosting Firm profitability.
In This Role You Will
- Cultivate deep and trusted relationships with the practice and clients to facilitate the sharing and development of matter optimisation and efficiency best practices.
- Create tailored client and practice plans for optimisation and efficiency, aligned with the Firm's overall vision.
- Conduct detailed operational reviews of client and matter workflows to identify and recommend specific opportunities for MO services and efficiency improvements.
- Design, tests, and implements commercially viable matter optimisation solutions that enhance best practices.
- Develop and implements change management strategies to support the sustained adoption of Matter Optimisation best practices.
- Establish measurement frameworks to benchmark current performance, demonstrates the benefits of enhancements, and supports ongoing monitoring and reporting.
- Develop a strong MO and Business Team network to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration on optimisation projects.
- Drive optimisation initiatives that enhance client service while driving revenue and profitability for the Firm.
About You
- 5+ years experience in developing matter optimisation and efficiency best practices in a global professional services firm, preferably in the legal sector, with proven experience of process improvement methodologies and project management.
- Track record of developing and implementing change management strategies for Matter Optimisation and efficiency improvements that enhance client service while driving revenue and profitability.
- Highly motivated individual with a proactive and pragmatic approach.
- Excellent communication skills, able to engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders of all seniorities to facilitate business outcomes.
- A strategic thinker and problem solver, capable of delivering realistic solutions in a fast-paced environment with shifting requirements and priorities.
- Strong data analysis and Excel skills; experience with reporting platforms such as Tableau would be advantageous.
The Team
The Matter Optimisation (MO) function at Linklaters works closely with the Firm’s Practice Groups to design and deliver high quality legal solutions for clients. The function is structured according to 3 global practice divisions: Corporate, Finance and Litigation, Arbitration & Investigations and Centres of Excellence (CoE) to ensure seamless alignment with Practices, adoption of optimised ways of working, effective best practice, and sustainable growth to meet clients’ evolving requirements. The function comprises of several capabilities: Paralegals and Support Lawyers, LegalTech, Legal Project Management, Translation and our contract lawyer platform Re:link, who work together to maximise the client experience, whilst generating profitable revenue for the Firm.
