What You’ll Do:
We’re on the lookout for an experienced
Master Control Room (MCR) Operator to join our fast-paced and collaborative Technology team. This is a
permanent role where you’ll support the delivery of top-tier production and broadcast services across
live, OTT, and satellite platforms. You’ll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of all playout, contribution, and distribution feeds within one of the
UK’s busiest and most advanced MCRs.
We’re seeking someone with
ambition, curiosity, and a proactive attitude — someone who thrives under pressure and has a sharp eye for detail. While prior experience in a technical Broadcast or MCR environment is advantageous,
full training will be provided. What matters most is a solid understanding of television production and technical workflows, along with a calm, logical approach to troubleshooting.

Unusual Challenges or Circumstances (e.g. shifts/unsocial hours/travel):
- The role follows a 7-day fortnight shift pattern, including weekends and public holidays.
- Shifts are 12 hours long, with start times between 07:00 and 13:00.
- NO overnight shifts.
Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:
- Monitor and manage the live input and output of multiple video circuits across SDI, IP, and cloud platforms.
- Check, verify, and ensure all contribution and distribution feeds are correct, stable, and fully functional.
- Operate broadcast and IP systems including playout automation, IRDs, multiviewers, and various signal routers.
- Monitor and troubleshoot live RF, satellite, and OTT/IP feeds—taking swift action to maintain service continuity.
- Liaise with internal teams, external partners, and teleports during live event coordination.
- Escalate and log incidents accurately, supporting compliance and post-incident reviews.
You Will Have The Following Strengths:
- Hands-on experience in a busy broadcast MCR or NOC environment.
- Strong understanding of IP video transport protocols (e.g. SMPTE 2110, 2022, MPEG-TS, RTP/UDP).
- Experience with RF and satellite systems, including IRDs, L-band distribution, and modulation methods.
- Solid working knowledge of codecs used in broadcast, including MPEG-2, H.264/AVC, H.265/HEVC, DNxHD (e.g., DNx120), AAC, Dolby E, and PCM.
- Familiarity with tools like Bridgetech, TAG, Prismon, Mediapulse, and OTT monitoring platforms.
- Able to remain calm under pressure and resolve technical issues in real time.
We’d Love If You Also Have These:
- Degree or diploma in Broadcast, Media Technology, or Network Engineering.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA+, or vendor-specific training (Riedel, Lawo, AWS, etc.).
- Knowledge of net-based workflow methods (SRT, Zixi, RTMP).
