What you'll be doing

As a Mechanical Design Engineer Placement, you’ll gain practical experience in designing mechanical systems for major projects and learn how these designs come to life. You’ll support design tasks, explore engineering techniques, and understand how mechanical systems integrate into complex projects. It’s about applying your knowledge, learning from experienced engineers, and developing skills that will shape your future career.

Based in a Maxim office near Motherwell with a requirement to travel to support various project sites across the UK.

Our Year in Industry placements are targeted at students enrolled in a university degree programme, and offers the chance to gain real-world experience while fulfilling academic requirements. This placement allows you to apply your learning in a practical environment and build valuable professional skills.
