A multi billion dollar blue chip technology company have a really exciting opportunity in there engineering division.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned mechanical engineer to contribute to pioneering research projects that blend cloud technologies with artificial intelligence. Working within a multidisciplinary team of experts in optics, electronics, and software, the engineer will design and prototype precision mechanical systems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The position demands hands-on fabrication skills, expertise in SolidWorks, and experience with motion systems requiring sub-micrometre accuracy. Ideal candidates will thrive on experimentation, rapid iteration, and solving complex problems through innovative design.

The ideal candidate will be located in Cambridge.

Key responsibilities include:

Knowledge of optical systems (e.g., free space optics, waveguides).
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM.
Experience designing motion systems with sub-micrometre accuracy.
Hands-on fabrication skills including machining and 3D printing.
Strong understanding of tolerancing and production specifications.
