THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to support the Mid-Life Update (MLU) of a flight simulator integration rig. This role involves designing and specifying mechanical system elements, updating Bills of Materials (BoMs), and ensuring comprehensive CAD work and documentation. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the project and hardware engineering teams to achieve the project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify mechanical system components to meet project requirements.
- Update Bills of Materials (BoMs), drawings, and associated documentation.
- Perform detailed CAD work to refine mechanical designs.
- Collaborate with the project and hardware engineering teams to ensure alignment across system elements.
- Attend onsite meetings on-site 1-2 days per week to coordinate with stakeholders.
- Complete the majority of work remotely, delivering high-quality outcomes within the agreed timeline
Experience And Skills
- 5 years of experience at a minimum.
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering, including system design and documentation.
- Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design and drafting.
- Strong understanding of BoMs, technical documentation, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently on complex design tasks.
