We are looking for a Small Mechanical Sweeper Driver�to join our Public Spaces team and play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our highways, car parks, and public areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mechanical sweeping vehicles to carry out scheduled and reactive street cleaning duties.
- Perform specialist cleansing tasks including sweeping, power washing, and litter picking.
- Respond to emergency incidents such as road traffic collisions, flooding, and hazardous material spillages.
- Maintain effective communication with management and team members.
- Promote best practices in health, safety, and welfare, ensuring full compliance with legislation and Council protocols.
- Portray a positive image of Cumberland Council through professional conduct and customer service.
- Participate in training, pilot schemes, and continuous service improvement initiatives.
- Work flexibly across the wider Public Spaces service, including out-of-hours and occasional travel outside the area.
This role is available on a permanent basis.
