Job Overview
With the first intake of the North Wales Medical School (Bangor University) having just taken place in September 2024, this is an extraordinarily exciting time to be involved with medical education in the Health Board. Medical education is widely recognised as a vital part of every clinician’s role, and an educational qualification provides a strong foundation for a role as future educator. This fellowship offers formal post-graduate training opportunities, provides a wealth of experience in medical education and scope to develop skills mentoring and supervising junior colleagues.
As Care of the Elderly (COTE) education fellow, this post is particularly well-suited to doctors who can demonstrate prior commitment to clinical education, who are several years post-foundation programme, and/ or who are in the early stages of their specialty training or shortly to make the transition from core training to specialty training.
A regular clinical commitment is expected. This has been designed to provide relevant experience in Geriatric Medicine while enabling time to supervise medical students on placement in the clinical environment.
