Main duties of the job
We have an exciting opportunity for a part-time motivated Medical Staffing Administrator to join the the Surgical Care Group management team, supporting the rota co-ordination of all surgical medical staff, to ensure a safe working environment and support staff well-being and training.
The Main Responsibilities For This Role Are Below
- Ensure all relevant Medical eRosters are maintained correctly and submitted in a timely manner for payroll for additional payments.
- Ensure the correct allocation of Consultants/Doctors annual leave and update calendar and rotas accordingly.
- Support Care Croup medical recruitment.
- Provide support for Care Group medical staffing projects.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
Are you highly organised with a keen eye for detail? Join our team and play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinical operations and supporting our doctors’ training and wellbeing.
Responsibilities
- Writing assigned medical rotas, ensuring on-call and clinical commitments are sufficiently covered on a day-to-day basis.
- In liaison with the relevant individuals, populate and maintain the Healthroster system for agreed Health rosters, in line with trust policies and procedures.
- Act as a contact for doctors and local co-ordinators within the Care Group for all holiday and maternity leave, resignations, sickness reporting and rota issues.
- Facilitate Junior Doctors training opportunities by co-coordination of their clinical commitments and ensure appropriate rest provisions and leave.
Experience/skills
- Knowledge across a range of administrative work procedures including non-routine elements.
- Detailed knowledge of admin procedures and working processes.
- Significant experience as a secretary or administrative assistant in a customer-focused environment.
- Experience of complex staff rosters.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Level 4 Diploma or equivalent experience
- Knowledge across a range of administrative work procedures including non-routine elements
- Detailed knowledge of admin procedures and working processes
- Significant experience as a secretary or administrative assistant in a customer-focused environment
- Experience of complex staff rosters
- A good understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working within the NHS
- Proficient in the use of all hospital computerised IT systems relevant to the role (Healthroster, ESR, TRAC, eRota)
- Experience of recruitment
