Mental Health & Wellbeing College Coordinator - South Tyneside
About The Role
As Mental Health & Wellbeing College Coordinator, you’ll manage the day-to-day running of the South Tyneside Recovery College and work with partners to develop new opportunities. This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about supporting mental health, working alongside a team, and ensuring people with lived experience help shape what we do.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Plan and organise the college’s daily operations and termly programme of activities.
- Support budget management to ensure spending is in line with the service budget.
- Monitor the service to meet quality standards, delivery targets, and contract requirements.
- Collect, analyse, and report on performance data and service impact.
- Line manage Peer Support Workers, including HR processes, to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Work with people with lived experience to co-design and improve the service.
- Deliver inclusive courses and training, both in-person and online, for participants across the county.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks to support the needs of the organisation.
About You
- Experience supporting a range of individuals with diverse needs to improve mental health and wellbeing.
- Experience managing a team with associated HR processes.
- Background in the VCSE, health, or social care sector.
- Skilled in building networks and partnerships within communities.
- Able to develop and deliver training programmes or group sessions.
- Confident in service advocacy and communicating with other services and organisations.
- Strong organisational skills - able to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities across multiple venues.
- Good understanding of local and national mental health resources.
- Adaptable communication skills, both written and verbal.Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
- Competent IT user, including Office 365.Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and well-organised.
- Committed to continuous professional development (CPD).
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, fostering positive working relationships.
