We have an exciting opportunity to recruit new band 6 Mental Health Practitioners in PCNs across North Staffordshire and Stoke through Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). The adoption of the ARRS Mental Health Practitioners (MHP) is an exciting and new development that will build on and complement the progress of the new model of primary mental health care support.
Moorlands and Rural PCN consists of 7 member practices. With a team of 30 clinical and non-clinical staff members, the PCN covers a patient population of approximately 45,000 residents from the Cheadle, Alton, Tean, Waterhouses area of the Staffordshire Moorlands.
We are seeking to find Mental Health Practitioners who can come and make a difference. Providing high quality interventions in our new primary care integrated mental health service, working alongside other PCN-based mental health roles you will be an important member of our primary care team in the Primary Care Network.
Successful candidates must be experienced mental health practitioners and have experience of working in a Primary Care and / or Community Mental Health Team setting.
You will be a confident communicator with colleagues and stakeholders alike. Above all you will have the ambition and drive needed to work within an environment of change and innovation.
The candidate must have a full and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes due to the community element of this role.
The post holder will demonstrate outstanding autonomous and critical thinking and is a caring, compassionate and committed experienced mental health professional. They will, whilst acting within their professional boundaries, provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, assessment and management of care, including escalation to a more senior clinician. They will demonstrate safe, competent clinical decision-making and expert care for patients within the practice and wider primary care network. They will communicate and work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures. They will liaise with other professionals and agencies both statutory and non-statutory and to provide a link between primary and secondary services from a North Staffs Combined perspective.
- To undertake assessments of individual client’s difficulties, establishing risk and determining the appropriate course of action taking into consideration all possible options. The relationship should adopt a ‘partnership approach’ engaging service users in the positive management of their health and wellbeing.
