We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the Growth team as a Merchandising Specialist. You don’t need to be an expert on the car industry or tyres but having an appetite to learn and an enthusiastic outlook is key. In this role you will become knowledgeable in your vehicle segment and customer base by understanding that product selection will vary depending on the vehicle type.
You will play a pivotal role in optimising our online retail presence, ensuring the most suitable products are presented in the most effective way to our customers. Being a team player is key, you’ll be working closely with the Growth Team Manager, a team of Growth Specialists, within the Commercial department and cross departmentally. The right candidate will be an analytical thinker with experience working within a fast-paced e-commerce environment. They will be responsible for making data driven decisions to achieve business objectives with a customer first approach. A main part of this role is analysing data to make informed decisions, creating supporting visuals to report back on.
Responsibilities
• Product Merchandising and customer advocate: Using the knowledge that you will learn to highlight the unique selling point of the product for the appropriate customer segment. Optimise product listings on the website by ensuring that they are the best choice based on the customer profile.
• Data Analysis and excel: Analysing performance data on a daily basis including conversion rates, brand performance and sales trends. Regularly using excel to implement changes, pulling data from PowerBi and GA4 reports to aid contribution to wider discussions.
• Project leader: Be able to work independently and collaborate with a team on specific projects. You will be required to use your expertise and initiative to coordinate, execute and then report on results.
• Knowledge sharing and innovation: As a curious mind you will be expected to contribute during discussions and share ideas openly. Furthermore, keeping up to date with car/ tyre models, industry and new trends to support continuous learning.
• Brand lead: Growth Specialists work closely with their Category Merchandiser partner in the preparation of data which they collectively present to the tyre manufacturers they work with. Relationship building, information sharing and liaising on agreed actions are key here.
Key personal criteria
• Customer experience: The ideal candidate would have an understanding of what is important to consumers and delivering satisfaction. Putting yourself in the customers shoes and walking through the online journey identifying pain points to investigate solutions is critical.
• Excellent communicator: Be able to keep the team informed with project progress and maintaining open communication. The candidate should also be comfortable giving presentations to the team and in external meetings.
• Team-player: enjoys collaboration and is proactively engaged in their participation.
• An interest in cars, motorbikes, tyres and the automotive industry: ideal but not essential.
• Experience in data-driven decision making: The ability to derive insights from data, create charts, and visualise trends to make informed merchandising decisions is a key requirement.
