Metal Fabrication Foreman

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Fabrication Team:

• Direct and oversee all aspects of the fabrication team’s daily operations, ensuring full adherence to production schedules and quality standards.

• Act as the primary point of authority, making crucial decisions to ensure efficiency and productivity on the factory floor.

2. Implementation of Fabrication Plans:

• Take full responsibility for executing fabrication plans on the floor, ensuring that every task is carried out according to specifications, with no room for error or delay.

• Monitor the progress of fabrication processes and immediately address any discrepancies or obstacles.

3. Review and Manage Fabrication Drawings:

• Critically review all fabrication drawings guarantee they are accurate and executable.

• Coordinate with designer to rectify any design-related issues, ensuring that the fabrication process remains on track and within scope.

4. Material Request Management:

• Identify and assess all required materials for each phase of production and raise clear, concise material requests to the purchasing team.

• Take a proactive role in ensuring that all material requests are prioritized and processed promptly, with no delays to the production schedule.

5. Coordination with Site Supervisors:

• Establish and enforce clear communication with site supervisors to ensure materials and equipment are delivered on time, without exception.

• Take charge of raising material requests for site teams, ensuring their needs are met promptly and without hesitation.

6. Maintain Safety Standards and Compliance:

• Lead and enforce strict adherence to safety regulations and practices, ensuring that every worker operates in a secure environment.

7. Quality Control and Assurance:

• Maintain unwavering control over the quality of all fabricated products, ensuring they meet both internal and industry standards.

• Personally inspect work-in-progress and completed fabrication to confirm it aligns with quality requirements, taking corrective actions as needed.

8. Strong Team Leadership and Discipline:

• Command and guide the fabrication team, maintaining strict discipline while fostering an environment of high performance, accountability, and teamwork.

• Resolve conflicts swiftly, ensuring that team cohesion and morale are consistently high, while keeping performance at optimal levels.

9. Reporting and Strategic Communication:

• Prepare and deliver detailed weekly reports to the Assistant Operations Manager/Operations Manager, keeping leadership informed of progress, challenges, and solutions.

• Provide clear, actionable insights during meetings to ensure effective decision-making and continuous improvement of operations.

10. External Process Coordination and Control:

• Oversee the materials sent for galvanizing and powder coating, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet the highest quality standards and keep track of them.

11. Problem Resolution and Decision Making:

• Display exceptional problem-solving skills, swiftly taking command to resolve issues that arise on the factory floor, minimizing downtime.

• Make authoritative decisions in challenging situations, maintaining smooth operations even in high-pressure circumstances.

12. Drive Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence:

• Instigate and implement improvements in processes, workflows, and safety measures to enhance productivity, quality, and overall efficiency.

• Constantly assess performance and take steps to drive greater effectiveness and control across the team.
