Excell Metal Spinning is growing, and we’re looking to recruit an experienced Metal Spinner to join our Portsmouth-based workshop. With increasing demand across aerospace, defence, architectural, marine and premium cookware sectors, this is an excellent opportunity for a skilled spinner who takes pride in traditional manufacturing and high-quality workmanship.

This role will suit someone who enjoys varied, technically interesting work rather than repetitive production, and who values precision, consistency and craftsmanship.

The role

You’ll be working hands-on as part of a close-knit, highly skilled team, producing spun components from aluminium, stainless steel, copper and other alloys. Work ranges from one-off prototypes through to repeat batch production, often to tight tolerances and demanding specifications.

Day to day, you’ll be manually spinning on conventional lathes, setting up tooling and formers, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and working closely with colleagues to maintain Excell’s high standards of quality and finish.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone with proven experience in metal spinning who understands material behaviour, forming techniques and the importance of getting things right first time. You should be comfortable working independently, while also being a team player in a professional workshop environment.

Attention to detail, pride in your work, and a strong work ethic are essential. Experience working across a range of materials and component sizes is highly desirable.
