Description

We are seeking a Metallic Design Engineer to join a leading Aerospace client.


Main focus will be the design and development of helicopter Metallic structures.


This role involves working on complex metallic components and assemblies, ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and compliance with aerospace standards.


The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in metallic airframe design, preferably within rotorcraft or fixed-wing aircraft programs.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design and develop metallic fuselage components including frames, skins, bulkheads, and joints.
  • Create and manage 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using tools such as CATIA V5, Siemens NX, or SolidWorks.
  • Collaborate with stress engineers to ensure structural integrity and compliance with certification requirements.
  • Support design reviews, DFMEA, and manufacturing readiness assessments.
  • Interface with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and production efficiency.
  • Apply knowledge of aerospace materials
  • Ensure designs meet EASA/FAA regulations and internal design standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and innovation in lightweight structural design.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in metallic structural design within aerospace, ideally on fuselage or airframe projects.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA V5, NX, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and design for assembly.
  • Familiarity with aerospace certification standards (EASA CS-27/29, FAR Part 27/29).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with rotorcraft design or helicopter fuselage development.
  • Knowledge of PLM systems (e.g., ENOVIA, Teamcenter).
  • Exposure to composite-metal hybrid structures is a plus.
