Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for an exciting role in our Breast Cancer CNS team for a Metastatic Breast Cancer Nurse Specialist.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced nurse who is committed to delivering excellent patient care and takes pride in what they do. The nurse will work within the cancer nursing team to improve and enhance the metastatic breast cancer patient journey. As an experienced nurse you will work alongside nursing and medical colleagues in surgery and oncology to facilitate the best experience and care for individuals with metastatic breast cancer.
A background in breast cancer or palliative care would be advantageous to the applicant. Excellent communication skills are essential together with an ability to prioritise workload, whilst working as part of a team is also essential.
The Metastatic Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will deliver an expert, specialist service to patients diagnosed with breast cancer and will be a core member of the Multidisciplinary team providing direct and indirect support and advice to breast cancer patients and their carers working as a key member of the established CNS team.
The CNS will promote excellence in nursing practice through the integration of expert clinical practice, education, consultancy, acting as a resource and commitment to nursing research.
The role includes developing, implementing and evaluating a seamless specialist service ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care. This will be achieved through clinical practice, management of patient caseload, education, research, audit and professional activities. The post holder will act as a resource for patients, their carers, nursing colleagues and other healthcare workers by offering expert skills, advice and support. They will liaise with the primary care sector and work collaboratively with the RMP Cancer Alliance
- Improve clinical outcomes, patient experience and enhance the quality of care provided by the service by being proactive and pioneering in advancing nursing in response to challenging healthcare needs and advances in practice. Ensure the needs of the patient are central to the delivery of care.
