The Role

Are you a visionary, digital first, creative team who blends conceptual thinking with exceptional design skills and a knack for crafting engaging and effective copy? Do you have a passion for developing innovative visual solutions and compelling narratives that captivate audiences across multiple platforms? We are seeking an ambitious and independent Creative Team to join our vibrant team, contributing to the visual identity and campaigns for the client.

This pivotal hybrid role sits at the heart of our visual and written content creation, translating strategic insights into compelling visual ideas and captivating storytelling. You will be responsible for developing high-quality visual designs and original, compelling copy for various marketing materials across digital, social, web, video, and print channels. You will create engaging storyboards and mockups, ensure designs are technically sound and optimised for different media, and ensure accuracy, grammar, and strict adherence to brand guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Conceptualisation & Integrated Content Creation:

  • Contribute to ideation and develop original, innovative creative concepts that align with strategic objectives.
  • Translate insights and briefs into visually compelling ideas and design solutions, alongside crafting engaging headlines, persuasive body copy, and effective calls to action.
  • Push creative boundaries and generate multiple design and copy concepts for review.
  • Develop high-quality visual designs and compelling copy for various marketing materials across digital, social, web, video, and print channels.
  • Create engaging storyboards, mockups, and prototypes to visualise concepts.
  • Ensure accuracy, impeccable grammar, and strict adherence to brand guidelines and tone of voice.
  • Adapt writing styles and messaging for different audiences and channels to maximise impact.

Technical Execution & Optimisation:

  • Ensure designs are technically sound, production-ready, and optimised for different media and platforms.
  • Maintain brand consistency and adherence to brand guidelines across all visual and written outputs.

Collaboration & Brand Guardianship:

  • Collaborate closely with creative, strategy, and account teams on integrated campaigns from concept to execution.
  • Actively contribute to brainstorming sessions, ensuring copy and visuals work seamlessly together.
  • Develop a deep understanding and guardianship of News UK brands, ensuring visual integrity and consistent, authentic messaging.

WPP Open & Continuous Improvement:

  • Leverage WPP Open for data insights, audience data insights, specialist collaboration, and workflow streamlining to enhance creative effectiveness and content effectiveness.
  • Stay updated on the latest design trends, tools, technologies, content marketing trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
  • Continuously expand skills and knowledge in design, copywriting, and digital content strategy.

  • Excellent Visual Communication & Understanding of Brand Voice: You have a proven ability to communicate complex ideas visually and create designs that resonate with target audiences, coupled with a keen understanding of how to translate brand identity into engaging narratives.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: You are highly proficient in industry-standard design software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other relevant tools.
  • Understanding of Design Principles: You have a solid grasp of design principles, including typography, colour theory, layout, and composition.
  • Adaptable: You are comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and can adapt quickly to changing priorities and requirements.
