Description
We are looking for an experienced driver to support the smooth and efficient delivery of the school travel service and other passenger transport services, across Southampton and the wider area, including outside of the city.
About The Role
The role involves driving a minibus to pick up and drop off passengers (children, young people and adults) from and to specified locations safely, ensuring health and safety protocols are adhered to. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with experience of driving in a similar role and have excellent customer relations skills. They must also be capable of dealing efficiently and politely with customers and stakeholders on a daily basis and able to work effectively as part of a team.
In addition, applicants will need to have a good knowledge of health and safety and will also have a clean driving licence (including category B1) and an understanding of the Highway Code, principles of safe driving and appropriate traffic regulations.
The successful post holder will be MIDAS trained, or the post will be subject to the post holder successfully completing MIDAS training following appointment.
The successful post holder will have a current and valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, or the post will be subject to the post holder successfully obtaining this.
There will be potential for the contract to be updated beyond the initial fixed-term period.
Additional Information
This role is part-time, approx. 18 hours per week, term-time only. Due to the nature of the role, it is not offered as a job share role.
The salary quoted is based on full time hours (37 hours). It is usual for successful candidates to start at the bottom of the pay grade.
