The Met’s Insurance and Claims Services is an in-house, London based police claims handling team. We are part of Finance Services, within the Met’s Commercial Services function.
The team performs a critical role for Met through a claims management function, strategic insurance programme and related internal insurable risk and indemnity services.
We respond to legal liability claims against the Met, typically for road traffic accidents involving Met vehicles, including employer liability claims and for damage caused through forced entries to premises in the execution of warrants. The team also manages recovery of monies from third parties who are at fault in causing road traffic accidents involving Met vehicles.
We are now looking for an insurance motor claims engineer to join our team. This role exists primarily to assist the Claims Manager in the management of an effective motor claims third party recovery process. This is done by providing expert advice on assessing accident damaged repair costs required of Met vehicles following road traffic accidents involving third party vehicles.
You will apply your experience and understanding of technical standards in the collision repair services, to assist members of the Claims Team in the effective monitoring of motor claims spend.
We can provide you with a varied workload, including off site inspections.
