An opportunity has arisen within our B6 MSK physiotherapy rotation to cover a secondment providing high quality physiotherapy to the clinical areas of Rheumatology, inpatient and outpatients, MSK outpatients and Trauma and elective orthopaedics.
Rotations last 9 months and you will have the opportunity to perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients who have diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.
The RUH offers opportunity to work in a progressive and friendly integrated therapies department. This role will allow the advancement of clinical skills and knowledge in various specialist areas as well as encouraging development of leadership skills including supervision, recruitment skills, service development and project management.
- To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including the management of own patient caseload. To ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management, and support more junior staff to do likewise.
- To undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi pathologies. To use advanced clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques to analyse and provide an accurate diagnosis of their condition.
- To formulate accurate prognoses and recommend best course of intervention, developing comprehensive discharge plans.
- Formulate and deliver an individual physiotherapy treatment programme based on an advanced knowledge of evidence based practice and treatment options using clinical assessment
- To be responsible for clinically and managerially supervising, educating and assessing student physiotherapists to graduate level on physiotherapeutic skills and knowledge within all clinical areas.
- Teach, assess and contribute to the performance assessment and appraisal of newly qualified physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistant staff and technical instructors.
