About the Role:
We are looking for a new Multi-Skilled Plant Operative to work at our site in Wembley. This is a varied position, you will be operating the mobile plants, working on site and operating the weighbridge. It is a busy position that will keep you on your toes!
Responsibilities:
- Operate on-site mobile plant safely and efficiently (e.g. loading shovel, material handler, road sweeper, power wash), carrying out and recording pre-use checks.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment and proactively monitor site operations, reporting accidents, near misses, and hazards.
- Support efficient traffic flow and tipping operations, ensuring compliance with traffic management systems and PPE requirements.
- Communicate effectively with team members using two-way radios to ensure safe and coordinated site operations.
- Follow company policies, risk assessments, and safety regulations including COSHH and permit-to-work procedures.
- Keep plant, equipment, and welfare facilities clean and report any defects or issues promptly.
- Be flexible and willing to carry out additional reasonable tasks as required by supervisors or site management.
Requirements
- Experience of waste operations desirable.
- Experience of certified weighbridge operation including good numeracy, keyboard skills and systems understanding.
- Able to deal effectively, efficiently and courteously with all site users.
- Ability to use initiative and work flexibly and efficiently without constant supervision.
- Must be prepared to work at any of the Company's sites.
- Loading shovel trained (level 2), current license
- Material Handler trained (level 2), current license
