We are looking for a Multi Skilled Technician to join our Building Services team in Derby.
Working as a Multi Skilled Technician you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive, efficient, and high-quality mechanical maintenance service within the hospital estate, with a strong focus on plumbing systems. This role supports the delivery of safe, compliant, and continuous healthcare services through planned and reactive maintenance activities across the site.
What you’ll do:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on a wide range of mechanical systems, with a focus on plumbing installations including domestic hot and cold-water systems, drainage, sanitary ware, and associated plant.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs to hospital mechanical services, ensuring minimal disruption to patient care.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new plumbing/mechanical systems and modifications to existing installations.
- Work from job tickets, technical drawings, and verbal instructions while ensuring work is carried out to high safety and quality standards.
- Liaise with hospital staff, contractors, and other engineering colleagues to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Participate in the on-call rota and emergency response duties as required (subject to local arrangements).
- Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with Health & Safety regulations, HTMs (Health Technical Memoranda), and Trust policies.
What you'll bring to the role:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering.
- Time-served apprenticeship in a relevant mechanical discipline.
- Proven experience working on plumbing systems within a commercial or healthcare environment.
- Good working knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
