Job Summary

Calex is a specialist training and consultancy organisation working in partnership with several market-leading automotive manufacturers. We are currently seeking to recruit a Multimedia Production Assistant to join the team at the Volkswagen National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes on a 10 month fixed term contract.

The role reports to the Digital & Multimedia Manager within the Digital & Multimedia function. This team is responsible for the creation of video and digital content for virtual training and face-to-face delivery across our partner network, as well as corporate films.


You will assist with the smooth running of production and act as a key point of contact for the Multimedia team. You will be involved in a variety of tasks and should be passionate about learning and developing new skills and excited to contribute to a wide range of Multimedia projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the multimedia team with creating content (video, audio, photography) for various platforms, including live events.
  • Support the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of AV equipment (sound systems, projectors, lighting, cameras, and live streaming setups) for events.
  • Execute technical aspects of event production, ensuring smooth operation of all basic AV elements.
  • Help with basic video editing tasks such as trimming clips, to support our videographers and editors
  • Work with the team to organise and manage video files and ensure all assets meet branding guidelines.
  • Work on multiple projects, prioritising tasks with support from senior team to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure videos are aligned with project goals and standards.
  • Attend production meetings and take meeting / briefing notes and distribute accordingly
  • Liaising with key stakeholders for approval to use and obtain copies of copyrighted materials
  • Act as a runner when required.
  • Perform admin duties when required
  • Assist with manual handling tasks as required.
  • Support other ad hoc related tasks as and when required


About You

  • Basic working knowledge of AV setups and live event production.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting technical issues on-site and working under pressure during live events.
  • An interest in camera operation, video production, and live streaming technologies.
  • An eye for detail, ensuring that final videos meet branding guidelines.
  • Able to work independently on technical setups and work with team members to bring ideas to life.
  • Proficient in video editing software (experience with Adobe Premiere Pro is a plus).
  • Detail-oriented, ensuring that event productions meet branding and quality standards.
  • Organised and efficient in managing time and resources for event projects.
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • Proactive and adaptable in fast-paced environments
  • Demonstrate resilience and the ability to maintain performance in the face of ever-changing priorities and workload
  • A valid driver’s license.

Salary & Benefits

Contract: Fixed-term Contract 10 months / Full Time


Pre-employment Checks

Calex will undertake the relevant/standard employment checks with any successful candidate. This includes contacting all nominated references, as well as checking candidate ID, driving licence (if appropriate) and right to work in the UK. Some roles may also be subject to further pre-employment checks (confirmation will be provided through the recruitment process). The nature of this role may necessitate that we undertake a DBS check.


Employment

The successful candidate will be employed by Calex UK (www.calexuk.com). Calex are a specialist automotive training provider and provide training staff and expertise including Trainers, Developers, Digital Learning Experts, and Administrators to Volkswagen Group UK. The successful candidate will join an established team, at the VWG National Learning Centre in Milton Keynes.


Place of Work

VWG National Learning Centre, Wymbush, Milton Keynes.

We currently operate hybrid working with at least 60% of time in the National Learning Centre with the opportunity to work up to 40% remotely. Time spent in the office may change.

There will also be times when it may be necessary to work from alternative locations, e.g. VWG facilities and retailers, and other sites as necessary to perform the role.
